Going back through my first roll of 35mm in the Lightroom 3 beta, and tweaked 2 more photos a bit. Didn’t change the color much, just a bit of contrast and exposure on them. I’m hoping to shoot a few rolls of 120 this weekend. Wish me luck!

The other snapshot that actually turned out half decent:

I picked up the first roll of 35mm I shot over the weekend. I didn’t make it to a real camera store in time on Sunday, so I had to settle for a quick trip to Walmart :(
I modded the Holga with some foam pieces to fit the 35mm. I took a bunch of photos at the Alberta Art Gallery opening, but I made a rookie mistake- I didn’t keep track of how many photos I had taken! I played it safe, and cut the shooting short, and ended up only using a half roll.
One thing I have learned about shooting with the Holga, is that you definitely need a lot of light. It was dark inside the lobby of the art gallery, and the underpowered flash didn’t do much more than make a cool orange effect on the top of the film. My next session will for sure be in daylight, with some more detail subjects. Subtle, poorly lit architecture isn’t really the best subject.
I have a roll of 120 waiting for me next, and I can’t wait to shoot it! I think a downtown photowalk is in order ASAP.
Anyways, here’s the one photo that actually worked out well- straight off the scanner at Don’s Photo.

Hoping to pick up some film this weekend, and take some shots at the AGA opening. Stay tuned!

Yesterday I got on eBay and finally ordered a Holga. Having never shot film before, it should be a great learning experience!
I’m planning on shooting both 120 and 35mm, and hopefully have some decent prints in the end.
I love lo-fi.
